Banana Berry Smoothie

Banana Berry Smoothie

Vegan/Vegetarian

This is one of my go-to smoothies when I need something quick, energizing, and full of nutrients—but still sweet and satisfying. It’s easy to tweak depending on what you have on hand, but I always come back to the combo of strawberries, banana, and a handful of hidden greens.

Ingredients

  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup berries of choice (I usually use a blend of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries if I have them)
  • Splash of milk of choice (I use organic unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
  • 1–2 spoonfuls of Greek yogurt (optional— use dairy-free if needed for creaminess)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1–2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 date (pitted)
  • Handful of spinach
  • Handful of ice

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour, sip, and enjoy!

Wellness Notes

  • Berries are rich in antioxidants, which help protect your thyroid from oxidative stress
  • Spinach adds anti-inflammatory leafy greens and more antioxidants
  • Chia & flax seeds are full of fiber and omega-3s—great for inflammation and hormone support
  • Hemp hearts bring plant-based protein to keep you full and energized
  • Yogurt (especially with probiotics) supports gut health, which ties into hormone regulation and immunity

Modify This Recipe

  • Choose your berries of preference
  • Swap spinach for kale
  • Don’t need to use yogurt
  • Add a spoonful of sea moss gel for added nutrients
  • Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder
